Remembering Paul Crockett

In the wake of Paul’s passing, many have asked how they can help. We have set up this fund to directly benefit his wife, Dawn, and their children, Beatrice, James, and Matthew. Our goal is to ease the immediate financial pressures of the future so the family can focus on one another. Your generosity and support mean the world to them.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my dear friend and longtime colleague, Paul Crockett. Paul passed away on January 1st from a sudden heart attack.

I have known Paul for over 20 years. It is rare to find someone where the lines between "colleague" and "friend" are so effortlessly blurred. Paul didn't just network; he connected. He had a gift for making an immediate, deep impact on everyone he crossed paths with, leaving a mark that is as irreplaceable as it is indefinite.

Many in the games industry will remember Paul as a veteran who spent decades pouring his passion into his work, most notably his long stretch at 2K where he was a driving force behind the MLB 2K Baseball franchise. Since 2018, he has been a cornerstone of our department at Major League Baseball, bringing a level of experience and wisdom that was matched only by his kindness.

Outside of work, Paul was defined by his loyalty—to his family, his friends, to the Phillies and Eagles, and to the music of Pearl Jam. He brought that "die-hard" energy to everything he did.

To Paul: I am going to miss you dearly. The industry feels a little smaller today without you in it.

For those who knew Paul and wish to pay their respects, arrangements and details are below.

Rest in peace, my friend.
