Help Paulis Achieve Her Dream of Becoming a Nurse

Hi everyone, my name is Paulis, and I am an international nursing student at the University of Saskatchewan. Back home in Colombia, I faced many challenges that led me to seek a better future elsewhere. Studying in Canada has given me a fresh start, a safe place to grow, and the opportunity to pursue my passion for nursing. Ever since I was young, I have dreamed of becoming a nurse, dedicating my life to caring for others, especially children. However, as an international student, I have no access to loans or financial aid, and tuition alone is a significant expense, making it challenging to continue my studies without financial support. Despite these financial difficulties, I remain committed to this goal, but the reality of international tuition fees has made it incredibly difficult to continue my education without financial support.

Why I Need Your Support

As an international student, I do not qualify for government student loans or many scholarships. My tuition alone costs around $26,000 per semester, and with living expenses, school supplies, and other necessities, the total cost of my nursing degree is projected to reach $150,000.

Each semester, I must meet tuition deadlines to stay in school. Any amount donated helps me get one step closer to completing my education and achieving my dream.

What I’m Doing to Support Myself

I am actively working to contribute as much as I can toward my tuition. I currently work casual jobs at the university, including supervising at the library and assisting with exam supervision. These jobs were chosen because they allow me to earn some income while balancing my demanding nursing schedule. However, as an international student, I am restricted to working a maximum of 20 hours per week, making it impossible to cover my tuition alone.

I have applied for numerous scholarships but have had little success due to eligibility restrictions. I have also explored options like pet sitting and virtual assistant work to increase my income, but finding clients has been difficult.
