Help Paulina Provide Critical Care for Juneau

Hi, my name is Christine, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my incredible older sister, Paulina. She would never ask for help herself, but as a community, I know we all love her—and the beautiful extension of her heart: her beloved cats, Juneau and Pankake. In one of the most emotionally and financially challenging times of her life, I know we’d all want to support her in any way possible.

Paulina has dedicated her life to caring for animals. She’s been a devoted cat mom, an animal rescuer, a foster parent, and a trusted pet sitter—always stepping up to help, never asking for anything in return. Her kindness has touched so many lives, both human and furry.

For over 20 years, Paulina has given her two senior cats, Pankake and Juneau, a life full of love and comfort. Pankake was rescued by her father two decades ago, and Paulina took him in with open arms. More than 15 years ago, she rescued Juneau from a barn in Davis, CA, giving her the life any cat would dream of. These two have been by her side through life’s hardest moments, offering her the unconditional love and comfort only pets can give.

But now, they need her more than ever.

As they’ve grown older, both cats have faced serious health challenges. Pankake has battled kidney disease, and thanks to Paulina’s dedicated care, he’s still fighting through. But in the last few months, Juneau—who has always been healthy—suddenly started experiencing severe health issues. Multiple ER visits and tests have revealed she is in Stage 4 Kidney Disease. There is hope, but it requires immediate and ongoing treatment, hospitalization, and round-the-clock care.

Paulina has done everything in her power to provide for them, pouring her love and resources into their care. But the financial burden has become overwhelming. As much as she wants to focus on giving Juneau the best chance at recovery, she is now faced with mounting medical bills—and the heartbreaking reality that, should treatments fail, she will also need to prepare for end-of-life care.

This is where we come in.

Paulina has always shown up for others—now it’s our turn to show up for her. Any donation, big or small, will directly help her continue providing the care Juneau desperately needs, allowing her to focus on her cat’s well-being instead of financial stress.
