Here I am at 36 years old and cancer is back for the THIRD TIME! I’ve been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Triple Negative Aggressive Breast Cancer. Back in February of 2017, at 34 years old, I was first diagnosed with Triple Negative Aggressive Breast Cancer, Stage 2b. As with other breast cancers, there are fewer treatment options for triple-negative breast cancer, and it is more likely to spread and recur more than other types of cancers. The American Heart Association (AHA) states that Triple-negative breast cancer accounts for 10–20 percent of all breast cancers, and stage 2b has a 93 percent survival rate. Because this was an aggressive cancer, mentally I knew that I would have to undergo intensive treatment, but I had no idea what that even meant or what it was going to feel like.
I had to go through six months of intensive chemotherapy, followed by a lumpectomy surgery. After surgery I received 25 rounds of radiation. If that wasn’t enough, I also had to take another six months of chemotherapy.
August 2018, I received one of the happiest news in my life. I received a letter stating the cancer was GONE! No trace of it. Unfortunately, that happy moment didn’t last very long. Five months later on December 2018 just before Christmas I found another lump on the same breast. Surprise! Cancer was back! This time I opted to have a double mastectomy, I wanted to get rid of this once and for all. Although there wasn’t any trace of the cancer being anywhere else but my left breast; I was sticking to my decision. Surgery was a success! They took everything out and once again no trace of it was left behind.
It is now June 2019, here I am four months later post surgery and I was just informed cancer is back for the third time!!! This time it decided to metastasize (spread). Now I am diagnosed with Metastatic Triple Negative Aggressive Breast Cancer, Stage 4. I have two tumors on my chest wall, cancer on my lymph nodes, and two nodules on my left lung. According to AHA, stage 4 (metastatic) has a 20 percent survival rate, but this is NOT what I believe. I know God is powerful and miracles do happen.
I have tried the science way with all the treatments and butchery, but now it is time for a natural course of treatment. There are several stage 4 survival stories of people who were cured with the help of Holistic doctors and a healthy lifestyle. I am determined to fight this battle with the help of God, family, and friends. Let’s DO THIS!
