I'm Paulina Angel, I'm a longtime LGBTQ rights activist of 20 years from the Coachella Valley.

Back in June, I learned that my job as a Peer Crisis Counselor with CalHope was ending due to financial cuts at a federal level (we all know who is to blame for this), so on June 30th, my job ended after 5+ years of helping others with their mental health issues.

I had some savings from a previous fundraising efforts for my bottom surgery, but because of losing my job, all those savings have dried up, especially with the electric bill being high due to the summer months. I was hoping by the end of this month to have found a new job, but sadly no one is hiring and its taking a long time for my unemployment to be approved, so now I'm coming to you all asking for help.

I'm trying to raise $1,000, which will help fund my house bills as well as money for food and emergencies.

I'm hoping by the end of august to find a job or at least have my unemployment benefits active, but I can use the help right now.

I hope you can help me out during these hard times, I never dreamt that I would be in this situation, being unemployed, considering how much of a workaholic I am, even to the point that I don't take vacations. So I'm praying that I find a new job and fast.
