Whether it was scaling ladders to lay shingles high above on the roofs of New York, or driving 80,000 lbs. 18 wheelers across God’s green Earth through the elements (and of course bad traffic), my uncle, Paul Kryskiewicz has never backed down from any challenge most people wouldn’t take up themselves. Now my uncle, our friend, “Paulie” is taking on the biggest challenge of his life, as he is facing Chronic Kidney Disease and preparing for a life of dialysis appointments, dietary restrictions and lifestyle changes. This challenge however is where he could use our help.

 

As you can imagine the news has shocked all of us, and the family is scrambling to make arrangements for the ongoing care not only for Paul, but also for Pat his loving wife of 26 years, who is living with her own ailments like Type II Diabetes and the beginning stages of kidney failure. My uncle will no longer be able to meet the daily physical demand the body endures as an over-the-road trucker, which is how he has been putting food on the table, and caring for Pat the last 15 years.

 

Our family is stepping in to assist with the overwhelming transition to make sure Paul and Pat receive the medical care they need, and seek whatever assistance is available for them to make ends meet and keep their home in South Carolina. Unfortunately, our funds are limited, and we are reaching out to anyone that can help.

 

My Uncle Paul is a proud man, and not tech savvy, so I am setting up the GoFundMe and doing the asking for him. I’m imploring family, friends, and even strangers to chip in whatever they can to help. Donations received will go to medical costs for doctors visits, medication, utility bills, and mortgage until the process to claim disability has been hopefully approved. I realize in today’s climate with COVID-19, everyone is facing hardships, a little bit can go a long way. Myself, my family, and of course my Uncle Paul and Aunt Pat appreciate whatever you can spare.
