Today, I want to tell you about someone incredibly special,my neighbor, Paulette Odoms. Paulette is 78 years old, and despite everything she’s facing, she continues to show up for others with kindness, warmth, and an open heart. But right now, she needs us. Paulette has spent over 30 years helping others, opening her home and heart to anyone who needed love, stability, and care. She’s also dedicated her life as an educator for special needs and autistic children, pouring patience, compassion, and guidance into so many young lives. She has always been the kind of person who gives. If you were sick, Paulette would cook for you. If you needed someone to talk to, she would listen. If you were struggling, she would find a way to help. That’s just who she is.
Now, at 78, Paulette is still working, providing daily care to elderly individuals because she has no choice. She’s doing everything she can just to make ends meet. But it’s not enough. She is currently behind on her electric and gas bills, struggling to keep up with basic living expenses, and living in a home that is in desperate need of repairs, including a damaged fence she cannot afford to fix. After a lifetime of giving to others, Paulette is now facing challenges she shouldn’t have to carry alone. No one who has given this much to others, to families, to her community should have to worry about keeping the lights on or whether their home is safe.
This is where we come in. Let’s come together to support Paulette to help her catch up on her bills, repair her home and fence, and find stability and peace in this chapter of her life. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. Let’s show Paulette the same love and care she has shown so many others over the years.
