Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
My name is Paulette Vazquez-Mendoza, I am 17 years old and I was recently accepted to Cornish College of the Arts for the music program in the fall of 2021. I have been playing the violin for about 9 years and I started to volunteer at my church as the lead violin player with over 650 hours of work since 2018. I love volunteering because I get to see the people around me smile and enjoy the music my group and I play, I feel proud of the work I do because I am not doing it for money or for obligational hours at my school, I do it because it is not only fun for me, it is meaningful because I get to contribute to my community at the same time.
It has always been my dream to pursue a higher education degree, because I would be the first one in my family to go to college. When I was accepted into Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, I was overwhelmed with joy, but I was also frustrated because I did not get any grants from FAFSA or the College bound scholarship and I did not qualify for financial aid. College is very expensive, making it almost impossible for me to achieve my dream.
These are the cost I will need to cover for college:

Thank you for considering donating towards my education, even a small amount helps a ton.
