Hello everyone.

My mother, Paula Dryden McVay , has been definitively denied a liver transplant at all of the local transplant centers. She is too sick; there are too many complications and risks involved to where she would likely not survive the surgery. Getting her to another transplant center even further away for a <1% chance is frankly a futile effort. Therefore... it's unfortunately time to prepare our goodbyes.

She will remain at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA until her time is up. She will remain under aggressive treatment until Sunday night 12/28. On Monday 12/29, they will be removing everything related to life support and keep her comfortable with pain medication or any other measures to ensure she doesn't suffer. From there, her doctors anticipate "hours to days" for her to remain with us.

We don't have all of the future planned out regarding funeral, wake, etc. right now, but we will in due time and we'll update you accordingly. Until then, we have gotten some loose quotes from a few places and have updated the fundraising goal accordingly. If you can't donate anything at all, please at least share this fundraiser. We need all the help we can get if we intend to reasonably afford this.
