Dear friends,
We are writing to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help Paula Peak and Jim. Paula’s dear husband Jim just passed away, leaving her with not only the grief of losing him, but also with a mountain of expenses that she cannot bear alone.
Jim and Paula - owners of The Slaughterhouse, Paula’s Wine Knot Beer and Wine Bar and Paula's Pepper Jelly. This loving couple has been through more challenges than many of us could ever imagine. Jim and Paula have been together for over 15 years, and their love for each other and their businesses has never wavered.
Recently, however, they have been hit by a series of unfortunate events that have left them struggling to make ends meet. The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting lockdowns have hit their small businesses hard, making it difficult to keep the lights on and pay the bills. To make matters worse, Jim was diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing treatment, adding mounting medical expenses to their already strained finances.
Jim was unexpectedly diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer on Sunday, February 12th and Jim passed away on April 5, 2023 at 9:15pm.
JIM & PAULA – A LOVE STORY
Jim and Paula have a story-book beginning. They met at a Farmer's Market that Jim had sponsored at his business, The Slaughterhouse. Jim has always loved music and been a hard-working man working for years at Boeing and then retiring to run his own business. Jim had a passion for music and played drums for many bands. Paula was a force to be reckoned with. She was a passionate and driven woman who loved cooking and had a particular talent for making delicious pepper jelly and turned this joy into her business Paula’s Pepper Jelly.
When they first locked eyes, it was love at first sight. Jim was drawn to Paula's bright smile and infectious energy, while Paula was captivated by Jim's unwavering determination, strong physic and kind heart. They quickly became inseparable, spending every moment they could together building their businesses together.
Please consider donating to this GoFundMe campaign in honor of Paula's beloved husband Jim. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to her and would help her to begin to move forward from this tragic loss.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
