Good News!!! A bone marrow match has been found for my good friend Paula Guerrini Sanches. In December of 2021, Paula was diagnosed with a bone marrow disease which will eventually turn into leukemia. During the 6-month search for a bone marrow match, Paula has been going through chemotherapy and receiving multiple blood transfusions. She found out last week that a perfect match was found in Turkey! She is scheduled to start her transplant journey this December. She'll be hospitalized at Stanford for two weeks following surgery and then is required to stay near Stanford for another 2 1/2 months. Unfortunately, insurance only covers a small portion of those living expenses. If you can, join me in donating to Paula to help ease that financial burden.
