Paula, Thayse Bolzani De Mello’s cousin, has faced unimaginable hardship this year. In May 2024, the city of Porto Alegre was devastated by historic flooding when the Guaíba Lake rose to 17.4 feet, surpassing records set in 1941. Most areas of the city were underwater, with more than 60 streets completely inaccessible. Paula’s home was among those destroyed, and she lost everything—her furniture, clothes, kitchen appliances, and all the comforts of daily life—in just three weeks.
For months, Paula was forced to rely on the kindness of family and friends, moving from house to house while waiting for the waters to recede and her home to be rebuilt. The loss was not just physical, but emotional, as she struggled to find stability and hope in the aftermath of the disaster. Now, as her house is finally being rebuilt, Paula faces the challenge of starting over from scratch.
We are raising funds to help Paula furnish her new home and restore a sense of normalcy and comfort. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help her rebuild her life and make this Christmas truly special. Paula is family, and your support will mean the world to her as she begins this new chapter.
