I never thought I would become a mother, again, at 46-but that miracle became the reason I decided to fight for my life! I have spent most of my life battling morbid obesity, feeling trapped in a body that held me back from fully living. At 46 years old, I received a shock that changed everything—I discovered I was already 20 weeks pregnant with a baby I never thought I would have.

In that moment, fear turned into purpose. I knew this was my chance to fight—not just for me, but for my son.

That same year, I made the life-altering decision to have weight loss surgery. It wasn’t easy. It took everything in me—discipline, sacrifice, and determination—but I did it. I have since lost over 300 pounds. Every pound lost was a step closer to being the mother my son deserves.

But even after all that hard work, I am still fighting.

The excess skin left behind is not just something I can ignore. It causes constant physical pain, pulls on my body, limits how I move, and serves as a daily reminder of the life I fought so hard to leave behind. I live with discomfort, the risk of infections, and the emotional weight of still not feeling fully free in my own body.

The hardest part is knowing I still can’t show up the way I want to for my 3-year-old son. I want to run with him, play without pain, and be fully present in every moment of his life—but right now, my body still holds me back.

This surgery is not about appearance. It’s about relief. It’s about healing. It’s about finally stepping into the life I have worked so hard to build.

I have come so far, and I refuse to give up now.
