Help Paul Recover from Wrongful Arrest
Donation protected
My sister and I are reaching out during a challenging time for our family to ask for your support in helping our 22-year-old brother, Paul, recover from an unjust arrest, regain stability, and cover his legal fees.
On May 10, 2025, Paul was wrongfully arrested outside his workplace in Edgewater, Florida, simply for waiting for his Lyft ride after finishing his shift at CVS. Paul had clocked out at 10:00 PM and was standing near a pillar outside the store when Officer Daniel Rippeon from the Edgewater Police Department approached him, claiming he looked “suspicious” for wearing a hoodie. Despite Paul calmly explaining that he was a CVS employee waiting for his ride and providing his supervisor’s name, the officer escalated the situation. He sent Paul’s Lyft driver away, threatened to tase him, warned that his K9 would bite, and ultimately handcuffed and arrested Paul for “resisting” without any evidence of a crime. Shockingly, the officer admitted he believed Paul worked at CVS but proceeded with the arrest anyway.
Paul was detained for 2.5 days, an experience that violated his constitutional rights and caused significant emotional distress for him and our family. The charges, though dropped on June 3, 2025, resulted in him not being able to work at his job any longer and leaving him without income to cover rent or transportation. As a result, Paul is struggling to find a new place to live and needs a car to regain independence and seek new employment. We’re determined to help Paul fight for justice and bring attention to policing misconduct to avoid unjust arrest like this in the future. Your donations will go directly toward helping Paul recover and move forward. The funds will be used for things like legal Fees and other expenses tied to the legal process, housing support, help him purchase a reliable car to commute to and from a new place of work. Additionally, we ask that you share Paul’s story and video to spread awareness about policing misconduct and support our call for justice. Your contributions, whether financial or through sharing, will make a meaningful difference in helping Paul move forward during this difficult time.
Thank you for supporting Paul and help bring him justice.
