My name is Paul, Navy vet, husband, father, Opa. On 14 March 2026 I was driving Uber trying to make extra money and I was carjacked. They dragged me out of my car, I fought back, in the end it took two of them to throw me to the ground and mess up my hip, fracture my elbow and bang up my knee, hand and wrist. In the fight they shattered my phone screen. They stole my car and went joy riding. They were finally caught after a chase that exceeded 100mph. My car sustained some minor body damage, but they completely destroyed all the electronics (LED panels, dash cams, assorted other items. I was forced to pay out of pocket to even get my car back ($370). Now Uber's insurance is claiming I am responsible for a $2500 deductible. I just don't have that.
