A friend of the family started a GoFundMe to help with expenses to support Paul in his continued battle.
It is impossible not to ask why do bad things happen to good people. This story is the definition of that statement. Paul was first diagnosed with Lung Cancer in July of 2023. Over the year of 2023 Paul under went chemo and radiation. The Lung Cancer was then cured in February 2024. On March 16th of 2024, Paul was diagnosed with brain cancer. There was 6 spots on his brain at that time, Paul then had to undergo spot point radiation to help eliminate those spots. A brain scan was completed 3 months later (June of 2024) and 8 new spots appeared. And again Paul had to go through radiation. Now here we are.
Last month (August of 2024) Paul went for a second opinion in Minnesota and was required to do a PET scan and brain scan. After getting the results from those scans, we learned Paul now has 2 more spots on his brain and it has also migrated to his hip bone. This it is considered Stage 4 cancer as it is moving around his body. Over the next twelve weeks Paul will be having radiation, 4 sessions of chemo, and immunotherapy done.
It was very important to Paul that he continued to work as much as possible throughout his cancer fight and remain financially independent, but there are many unknowns moving forward with his treatment. Paul recently retired from his job as he was told he needed to by his Doctors. With a forced early retirement it leaves Paul in a hard place. The financial burden is considerable, but it is crucial for maintaining the care plan necessary for his ongoing health.
This GoFundMe campaign is a vital part of my fight. Your support will help cover these essential expenses, allowing me to focus on my health and my family without the overwhelming stress of financial strain. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to overcoming this disease and being present throughout my family's life.
If cancer has impacted you or your family's life in some way, please feel free to make a donation in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone currently battling the disease.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
