In mid-March 2021, Paul Morris contracted COVID. He's now on life support, likely needs a lung transplant, and is facing months - if not years - of expensive rehabilitation.

Paul is a 47-year-old soccer-loving Dad of three wonderful young men - Zack, Ryan and Kendall - and husband of nearly 23 years to wife, Laura.  They live in Frankenmuth, Michigan, where the entire family has been involved in community soccer programs for the last 15 years. 

No one could have expected this. Paul is young, healthy, and vibrant. You'd know this if you've ever sat next to him in the stands! He's known for his unique and hilarious shouts of encouragement. Paul's the kind of guy we all want to help. While his family is grateful for every single prayer sent up on their behalf, we know that the Morrises are going to face many unforeseen expenses in the near future.

For example:

- They're hiring a local attorney to act as Paul's patient advocate to ensure he gets the best possible care in the quickest possible time.

- When he's transferred to a hospital downstate or out-of-state for advanced care, there will be travel, lodging, and food expenses.

- And when (not if, WHEN!) Paul is able to return home, he'll need extended rehabilitation, which is estimated at $8,000-$12,000 per month.

The patient advocate will assist the Morris family in applying for whatever benefits they qualify for. No one thinks that something like this could happen to them. In reality, with this virus, any one of us could be in Paul's shoes. Doctors confirm that there's no rationale as to why COVID seems like a mild case of the flu to some and lands others on a ventilator for weeks or months.
