Help Paul & Jean McEowen Medical Costs
Donation protected
Paul and Jean are in need of assistance right now with costs related to Paul’s recent surgeries and hospital stay.
Paul suffered kidney failure and has been on dialysis for the past 7 years in hopes of getting on the kidney transplant list. With being on dialysis for so long there are many complications that arise, and he has needed many subsequent surgeries to stay alive. In November 2020, he went in to have his carotid artery operated on. There were some complications but all seemed to be okay, although he had to have a blood transfusion and was put on a ventilator for a time, he pulled through. Paul went in for another surgery on February 23rd 2021 with the goal of breaking down artery blockages in his legs as the previous surgery for this was not as successful as they had hoped. During surgery the doctors found more blockages which led to more surgeries over a few days time. When he woke from one of the surgeries he realized that he had no feeling in either of his legs and was paralyzed from the waist down. He was quickly transferred to Duke University Hospital in Raleigh, where the doctors are trying to figure out why he has lost all feeling in his legs as it is still a mystery.
Jean has traveled to be with him and is unable to work at this time considering that hospital is over 2 hours away. The cost of accommodations and travel for Jean to be able to stay in Raleigh with him are quickly adding up and becoming more then is manageable. Our goal and hope is to raise money for her to be able to stay with Paul and to cover the hotel and other expenses while doing so.
Paul and Jean have been through so much, any bit will be so helpful and appreciated.
Thank you to everyone for their support, and prayers.
