A few weeks ago, my husband Paul was rushed by emergency flight from New Mexico to Texas and now Minnesota for life-saving open-heart surgery. One moment we were home, and the next I was watching him being airlifted away, unsure if I would ever get to hear his voice again. His condition is more serious than we ever imagined. Paul’s medical team has now told us he must remain in Minnesota far longer than expected to survive the next critical stages of recovery.
