Support Paul Gold at Home as he Battles Parkinson's Disease
Donation protected
I am writing to share a difficult chapter in our lives and to humbly ask for your support. My husband, Paul, has been battling advanced Parkinson’s disease for the past eight years. Recently, he has begun to show signs of dementia, requiring round-the-clock care. While I am devoted to taking care of him, the responsibility has left me physically and emotionally exhausted, and it has prevented me from working to help cover our mounting expenses.
Three years ago, Paul underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery, which added to the complexity of our situation. Unfortunately, he has fallen several times, resulting in rib and vertebrae fractures. These challenges led us to decide selling our home would be essential to getting Paul the care he needs. We put our house in Bucks County—a charming home in a desirable area—on the market and moved into a rental home that was more accommodating and accessible.
We never expected the house to take so long to sell, and I have been struggling to cover both the rent for our current home and the mortgage on the house we are selling. This financial strain, combined with Paul’s growing care needs, has made it increasingly difficult to manage.
We are seeking $30,000 to cover six months of rent, the cost of a 24-hour nurse for weekends, and outstanding medical bills. This support would provide some much-needed relief, allowing me to focus on Paul’s care while ensuring he has access to professional assistance during critical times.
I know $30,000 is a significant amount to ask for, but any contribution, no matter the size, would make an enormous difference to us. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to our family, providing stability and a measure of peace during this challenging time.
If you would like more information, I would be happy to share details. Thank you for considering our situation and for any support you can offer.
With gratitude,
