Please help Paul take care of his mom with Alzheimer’s.

I am Paul O’Brien and I am the sole caregiver for my mom who turned 89 yesterday. I care for her 24/7 by myself. It’s overwhelming, especially since I have serious health issues of my own. I have heart problems, a blood disorder, and other problems.i just recently found out that i need surgery and will be unable to care for my mom for at least a month or two. It is very expensive to take care of a sick parent while taking care of my own health. I hate to ask for help, but I can’t work and have used all of my savings to take care of my own issues and my mom too. She worked as a registered operating room nurse for 57 years without taking one sick day. She spent her life taking care of others. Now it’s my turn to take care of her. She means the world to me, but I can’t do it alone. We are getting to the point where we can’t pay for all our health needs as well as everyday expenses on her social security and modest pension. I am embarrassed to ask for help, but would be so grateful for any that I receive. Between medication for both of us, daily needs for my mom, food and saving up for a hospital bed, it’s becoming increasingly hard to make ends meet. I am going to need to hire someone to help me while I recover and maybe beyond, but it is very expensive. She has gone through her savings and is living at home where she is most comfortable. I would like to get her a hospital bed because her current bed is no longer safe. She has trouble getting in and out, even with my help. I currently sleep in a chair at night next to her so she doesn’t fall when going to the bathroom. None of the money will be going to me. It’s all to take care of her needs. . I literally take care of all her needs from bathing, to feeding to helping her get dressed, to housekeeping, and everything else. I am honored to help her, but it’s becoming harder and harder.
