Hello, I’m Paul and I’m 60 years old. I recently became disabled and have been off work for several months.
Not long ago, I had a mild stroke, which is causing balance issues and neuromuscular problems with my left leg. Currently, I am performing daily physical therapy at home to try and improve my condition.
Unfortunately, they are finding other medical issues caused by age. The medical bills are piling up as a result. My insurance is not covering everything, and I’m having to pay a lot of out-of-pocket fees for all the different specialists I’ve had to see over the last few months. This is a lot to deal with.
I have applied for long-term disability, but it is not enough to cover my bills. I am falling behind on my rent and fear eviction.
I’m still technically employed, but I cannot perform any of the duties required of me due to the risk of falling, so I am unable to work.
Additionally, I am trying to sell some of my valuable items and collections, but even if I did sell everything I own, it is still not enough.
I’m not asking for much, but if you have the financial means to help, please do. I am single and do not have any children. My parents are deceased, and my brother is unable to help because he and his family are struggling as well. If it wasn’t for food banks, I would not be eating because I have no money for groceries.
I don’t want to become an old homeless man. Please help. Thank you in advance.
