Help Patty & Danny After Accident

Hello,

My name is Larrance and on Saturday, Nov 30th, my mother (72), step-father (74), and two nieces were involved in a serious rollover accident on F Highway in Lone Jack, MO. My step-father Danny and my two nieces, Mercedes (12) and Emma (6), were thrown from the vehicle. Fortunately, Emma only suffered from a fractured wrist and had no serious injuries. Mercedes suffered fractured ribs, a fractured pelvis, and several cuts and bruises. My mother and step-father Danny were not as lucky. Both were admitted to the hospital. Mom has nine fractured ribs and a serious hematoma when her arm was pinned under the roof of the car. She also received bruises to her face and neck. She has been discharged from the hospital but must undergo physical therapy to help her heal and get her strength back. My step-father Danny, unfortunately, is still in the ICU at CenterPoint Medical Center. He suffered a traumatic head injury, broken neck, broken back, and several fractured ribs. Right now he is still intubated, but doctors are weaning him off sedation in hopes he will wake up and be able to breathe on his own. He will need back surgery to repair the spine, but that cannot be done until he is off the ventilator and breathing on his own. The family is optimistic that he will make a full recovery, but right now, it's touch and go.

With all that being said, this accident has thrown our family into crisis mode. We are doing everything we can to get our parents back on solid ground. They are going to need ongoing medical care for months to come. They have Medicare and some private coverage, but the medical bills are still piling up, even after just five days! The MO Highway Patrol has deemed their vehicle a total loss. Unfortunately, they could only afford liability coverage due to the fact that they are living on social security. So, in essence, they are needing transportation. My mother lost her prescription glasses during the accident as well.

As I said, we are doing everything we can to lessen the impact of this accident, but my parents really could use some financial help. If you know Danny and Patty, you know they would give the shirts off their backs to help anyone. If you can help, it would be so awesome.
