Patti has been making women beautiful for over 40 years. A recent stroke, while not immediately life-threatening is still absolutely life-changing and she needs immediate financial help to recover and get back to her life and doing women's hair and nails.
Patti woke up Friday morning with her vision severely compromised; she had lost all vision in one eye. Her eye doctor sent her straight to the Emergency Room where we learned she had suffered an Eye Stroke. This retinal artery occlusion is when a blockage occurs and blood vessels emerge out of the optic nerve and onto the retina. There was absolutely no warning sign to this but we consider Patti lucky because this blockage could have occurred in one of the vessels in her brain and this could've been catastrophic.
We are hopeful that Patti will regain sight in her eye, and we have been informed that the treatment will not be pleasant to endure.
Here is why we need help from you:
Patti's career as a hairdresser, like many others in today's society, did not afford her the luxury of health insurance. Patti is a survivor of epilepsy and now a stroke; her medical bills are already stretched beyond what she can afford. Patti's stay in the ER this past weekend included 2 MRI's, a CT scan, and other charges an insurance company would squabble over. Her future recovery will include more Dr visits, tests, and beyond. Patti's future also must include keeping the roof over her head for herself and the family she cares for. With help, the impacts of this stroke can be much less devastating. We are humbly requesting your generous donations to help us reach our goal of $35,000. (Patti was in the hospital for 3 days-average hospital cost for uninsured was $9300/day plus testing). We will keep you posted as we go along and are grateful for any assistance you can offer.
