Hey, my name is Grant, and I’m an Australian living in rural Tamil Nadu, South India
Recently, I started visiting a tiny local shop every day for food and met an incredible grandmother who cooks everything from scratch and feeds everyone with tremendous love. She charges us the equivalent of $1.70 AUD for as much food as I want, made with such care and love.
Unable to have children, she was once looked down upon in her village and suffered from health problems for many years. But after visiting a free clinic run by the Isha Foundation, she regained her full health and vitality. In gratitude, she now gives endlessly to those around her.
She says that if she earns 10 rupees, 5 go toward feeding her dogs and the other 5 toward herself and her family. Despite living on the edge of having enough, she refuses to give up on her doggies, who depend on her for their meals. She feeds them eggs and other nutritious food every day.
She would never accept money directly from me, but if it comes from donors specifically to help her dogs, she’ll gladly use it to care for them. Together, we can help her feed her doggies for a year or more.
Any amount, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.
Thank you! :)
