Hi friends:
My name is Sophia, and this is my soul dog, Patsy.
Seven years ago, Patsy came into my (and my husband's) life like a bolt of light. She was found wandering the streets of Houston, Texas and, when animal control arrived, she leapt straight into the officer’s car. I always loved this story because it really highlights who Patsy is... Brave. Trusting. Hopeful.
She’s a pit bull/boxer mix with springs in her legs and a heart made of gold. Since the day we adopted her, she’s been our loyal companion, our comedic relief, our gentle protector. She’s been with me through job changes, TWO cross-country moves, a pandemic, and the birth of my son. Patsy is family.
Now she needs our help.
Patsy has been diagnosed with several mast cell tumors - a form of cancer common in her breed. She’s scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the tumors, but the cost of the procedure, follow-up care, and diagnostics is more than we can currently afford on our own. Due to the complexity of a tumor on her wrist, the current high-estimate for her surgery is just under $5,200. And, what is even more daunting, is that post-op she may need localized chemo treatment, due to the complexity of the tumor on her wrist.
We are doing everything we can to raise the funds to give her the care she deserves. Any amount - big or small - will go toward her surgery and post-op recovery. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing her story. Every act of kindness helps.
Patsy has given so much love to this world. I’m hoping we can return the favor now.
Thank you so much for reading, for donating, for caring.
With gratitude,
Sophia, Thomas, Charlie, Patsy & Tenzin
