Help Patrick Stay In Treatment
To friends near and far,
As some of you know, I have been battling with the disease of addiction since I was 17 years old. I have never been fully public about this due to the stigma and shame that surrounds the topic of addiction.
I have been lucky enough to have found a life in recovery, free from the bondage of drugs and alcohol. I have had periods of long-term sobriety and I have been able to accomplish and experience some incredible things in my life. Unfortunately, I (like so many others) was unprepared for the reality of the pandemic... the isolation, lack of accountability and meetings... the loneliness, loss of structure, depression... I eventually relapsed and became physically, mentally, and spiritually sick.
An incredible group of people have helped
me get into an amazing inpatient treatment center where I have begun the healing process.
I need your help to stay here.
The more days I can stay, the better chance I have at long term sobriety and a life worth living.
I come to you humbly to shed light on the stigma of addiction. We are your children, partners, colleagues, friends. We are artists, parents, CEOs, and surgeons. We are intelligent, creative, loving, and capable- we are addicts and alcoholics.
If you are able to give in this time of economic uncertainty, please donate. Every little bit helps.
with love & humility,
Patrick
