Hello everyone,
As many of you probably know by now, I’ve been fortunate to match with a doctoral internship through the Santa Barbara Psychology Internship Consortium. I will be working with the SB-SELPA office to support children and youth with emotional and behavioral needs. This is a huge milestone in my journey to becoming a psychologist!
At the same time, the transition is going to be financially challenging. I will be relocating from Texas to California (a state with a higher cost of living). While I have been actively saving money and applying for scholarships to alleviate expenses, nothing is guaranteed. In fact, I was informed today that my current job will be concluding a month sooner due to a loss of funding. This means I’ll have less income to rely on as I prepare for this big move.
The transition costs of moving across states and initial rental/housing fees are going to be difficult to manage while waiting for my internship stipend to begin. To help alleviate this burden, I’ve created a GoFundMe. Your support will help ease the stress of this transition so I can focus on starting my internship and serving the community.
