On Sunday August 1st, Patrick was in a freak accident where he became wedged between an automatic gate and a moving truck. He sustained major internal injuries, was intubated, required emergency surgery and subsequent ICU stay for stabilization. He remains in the hospital recovering from his injuries but is far from out of the woods yet.

Patrick is grateful to be alive and stable but with major abdominal surgery to repair the crush injuries, he has a long road to recovery.

If you know Patrick, you know he is a hard working EMT who spent years working hundred hour work weeks working multiple jobs, including ambulance, ER and even a third job when needed all with an attitude of gratitude. Currently he still works countless overtime shifts on top of his normal full time hours in the ER, stays extra when short staff, comes in just to help out all with a go get em positive attitude.

On top of work, Patrick is an amazing father, juggling sports, camping trips, even building jumps and repairing bikes —just so neighborhood kids can enjoy being outside too. He is selfless. He would give you his last $10 without hesitation. He would help anyone with anything. With his injuries he will not be able to work at all for months and he simply cannot afford to slow down and rest without our help. He would never ask for help but he needs our support, to allow him to rest and not stress about getting back to work. In addition to missing work, the medical bills are astronomical and overwhelming from ambulance, ER, surgery, ICU, and recovery not counting any rehabilitation and follow up.
