UPDATE -
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far it's been a real rush to know that people really do care and don't hesitate to help. What's been even more amazing are the prayers and masses that people have offered for me. And it's working!!
Today I went to mass, had my confession heard and then got a call from my surgeon's office. He has taken a compassionate view of my situation and has reduced his fees to the point that we can now announce that this campaign has been a success!
It's not the end of the road as I will still need your prayers for my surgery. But if what's happened over the last few days is anything to go by, I feel so much better going into the surgery knowing that the power of prayer is working.
Hi my name is Natalie and my good friend Patrick Lee needs major urgent surgery in a few weeks. He is scheduled in for a CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery) on 1 March 2024. Anything we can raise towards his surgery costs would be very much appreciated, as Healthcare/Medicare only covers a fraction of the cost and there will be expenses during his recovery period afterwards too. Due to the urgency of the situation, waiting for public healthcare unfortunately is not an option, as it may be too late.
A message from Pat -
Thank you to Nat for setting up this fund (I am a little embarrassed to be asking for help but I am very grateful for the help). For those of you who were wondering who I am:
I'm just a simple guy, working 2 jobs to pay off a mortgage, spending time with my dog, Maple and volunteering at my local church whenever I can. I've been blessed with many great friends and my job as a photographer in Sydney has meant I've met so many more wonderful people around the world.
I wish I had more time to prepare, save up, etc but it's all come on very suddenly. I go into hospital on the 29th of this month and surgery is on the 1st of March.
And whilst the donations have been amazing, I would also like to ask for a little bit more. Apparently, it's quite a serious surgery and it's not without risks and so I would very much love your prayers too.
