Help Patrick Pay For His Edinburgh Fringe Run!

Hello Big Dawgs!

My name is Patrick Hastie and I'm seeking $5,000 so I can pay for my Edinburgh Fringe Festival run, with my debut solo show My Grandpa's Grandpa's Dad.

Look, I understand that doing a gofundme for an artistic vanity project can be gauche. I do. However, I spent the month of August in Edinburgh and it was cool. I met a lot of cool people, I wrote and performed a show that I love 23 times, and all-in-all I had a great time. I grew as an artist, as a person, and as a friend.

That being said, I spent a lot of money, and not in a fun/cool way. Doing the Fringe is so expensive. There are venue rentals, posters, advertisements, flyers, flyerers, airline tickets, housing, train/bus fare, food, and a million other little things.

All told, I spent roughly $5,000.

So the other day I wrote on Instagram "hey if I set up one of these would you donate to it" and a lot of people said they would, so now I am doing that.

I know $5,000 is a ton of money, so please only donate if you can. I do not want anyone to feel obligated to put themselves in a bad spot just so I can pay a Scottish man named Daryl a few hundred pounds.

Donating $5, $10, or $20 would mean so much to me. Obviously donating $69 would be hilarious. $100 would be perfect. $311 would be all mixed up. Please do not donate $911, it's not funny and it's not cool. If you want to donate the whole $5,000, or if you feel I deserve more money (like $35,000 or maybe even $45,000) then send me an email and we can discuss.

A lot of fun jokes in this post, but sincerely, this $5,000 will go a long way in my faith in art and humanity and comedy and friendship and cold hard cash. Posting this is very vulnerable and very unlike me. Which just goes to show you how cathartic my month at Fringe was.
