Help Patrick McHugh make a short film

Hello! My name is Patrick McHugh and I have loved movies and the movie making process my entire life. I am fundraising for a short student film that I am so excited to create with a team of hardworking and passionate cast and crew this Fall.
Summary: A drama about a timid high schooler who pursues their dream to perform in musical theater but is haunted by a human looking being cloaked in black which takes every chance it gets to stop the high schooler from achieving their dream.
Purpose: This story is not just for the people who want to pursue a creative future like the main character does. It’s for anyone who has had a scary obstacle in the way of their dream. It’s an encouraging story that lets people know that even if thoughts come into into their head that discourage them or say horrible things to them, they have the ability to overcome and ignore those thoughts no matter how impossible that may seem.
Inspiration: It all started with a school assignment. My teacher for screenwriting was talking to the class about how pretty soon we were going to have to pitch an idea for a short story in front of the class and himself. I was terrified at this notion and could feel my heart beat pumping faster and faster. I had no idea what to write about and I have always hated having to stand in front of a class to talk, that to me feels like torture. Suddenly, a thought that I believe God gave popped into my head. The thought was that I should look at what my leg was doing at that moment. I looked down and it was shaking uncontrollably because I was afraid. Another thought then came that said “What if something was making your leg do that.” I took that idea and ran with it. Also, I had been working on getting a minor in theater and I’ve always had a passion for it so I figured it could be really fun to combine the two biggest passions in my life, musical theater and movie making.
Donations will go to food for feeding the cast and crew, paying actors, locations, props, and wardrobe. Making a movie can get pretty expensive and I can’t make this without you so thank you so much for your support. I will be sharing as much as I can about the experience of making this project on this short films Instagram page: @stage.frightened
