Help Patrick & His Family Through this Medical Crisis

Hi, my name is Morgan Moody, and I'm Patrick's wife. I'm starting this fundraiser because my husband is fighting a serious health battle, and we need help to cover the extensive costs ahead.
A few weeks ago, Patrick started vomiting blood from severe bleeding in his esophagus and stomach. Doctors found portal vein thrombosis with cavernous transformation—a long-standing blood clot blocking his portal vein, causing dangerous portal hypertension. His spleen is massively enlarged (larger than his liver), and the pressure has affected his intestines too. He's had multiple life-threatening bleeds, been intubated twice, placed in an induced coma, and needed massive blood transfusions.
He's currently still in the ICU at Piedmont Atlanta, on a ventilator with an ET tube, being weaned off heavy sedation. The team is arranging for him to transfer to the University of Miami Transplant Institute for specialized evaluation—they're assessing whether he needs a liver and intestinal transplant (multivisceral transplant) along with spleen removal. We don't know the final plan yet; it's still being evaluated. But no matter what they decide, this process will take a long time—likely many months, of which he will be unable to work.
Patrick is only 27 (almost 28), and he's the heart of our family. Our two-year-old son, Myles, asks for his daddy every day and doesn't understand why he's not home to play, give hugs, or read stories. Patrick has always been the one to make Myles laugh until he can't breathe. He needs his dad in his life.
Right now, Patrick can't work at all. I'm spending as much time as possible in the hospital with him at Piedmont, while my parents are watching Myles full-time. We're using Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), but we still have to pay the full insurance premiums to keep his Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage active. Bills don't stop— and now we are faced with mounting medical expenses.

We have Blue Cross Blue Shield, which will help with medical care, but it doesn't cover the biggest burdens right now:
-Possibly airplane transfer costs (he's being transported via air ambulance to Miami)
-Extensive travel expenses back and forth from the Grantville/Newnan area to Miami (flights, gas, or rides—multiple trips over a long period of time. Hotels near Jackson Memorial/UMiami are $150–$300+ per night, and we need to stay close to support him every day.
-Everyday bills while we're focused on his care.

We have no savings to fall back on. The costs will be extensive, and every day adds more pressure. We're scared of what happens if we can't keep up.
Any amount helps—even $10 or $25 goes straight to travel, lodging, insurance premiums, or keeping our everyday bills paid. If you can't donate, please share this page with friends, family, coworkers, church groups, or anyone who might care. Sharing can make a huge difference.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading our story. We're praying for answers, healing, and for Patrick to come home to Myles and the rest of our family.
With love and gratitude,
Morgan Moody (Patrick's wife)
