Help Patrick, father of three, beat leukemia (AML)

Hey, my name is Jeff and I'm starting this campaign for my brother Patrick, one of the most loving, generous people I know. We lost both our parents at a young age and have been each other's support system for as long as I can remember. Patrick loves his job working as a motorcycle mechanic in New Hampshire and spends every second he can with his partner, Kristen, and their 15 year old girl and 8 month old boy. 


A month ago, Patrick and Kristen, were thrilled to find out that they are pregnant with their third child. The love that Patrick and Kristen poured into their first two kids brought them so much joy that they were beyond thrilled to bring in a new addition to their family. 


Two days ago, (today is Feb 23rd 2020) Patrick started experiencing stomach pain so he went to urgent care. After some blood tests they discovered that his spleen was working overtime, having to create many more white blood cells than it typically needs to. This lead to more testing and later that night they found out that Patrick had leukemia. A day later we found out that he has AML leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is one of the most aggressive types you can have. 

Over the next month Kristen and their children will be supporting Patrick as he goes through rounds of chemotherapy and testing in Boston.  


All the money that you donate here will go towards supporting Patrick's health care costs, and Kristen and their two, soon to be three, children.

MDedge says that for AML leukemia 1-year average costs are around $825,000 (~$281,000 for chemotherapy and ~$544,000 for alloHCT (that is the bone marrow transplant).
