Hello friends and family! Rob and I travelled to Malawi five years ago and met a very vibrant young man named Patrick Kabichi. He wanted nothing more at the time than to pass his high school exams and attend university but the high school he was attending had no library and only 1 textbook for all to share. He wanted to be the first in his family to attend university and there was no stopping him! He knew God would make a way for him to fulfill that dream! He is now a junior social work student at DMI St. John the Baptist University in Lilongwe . He is the student body president and at the top of his class! His long term goal has been to open an affordable secondary school for the many bright children in Malawi, like him, that have the passion for education but not the funds to support it. Unlike the US, Malawi does not offer free public high school education. What started for him as tutoring has grown into a school of 186 students with a full time teaching staff. We are asking for you financial support to allow him to purchase land with an existing school on it so the children have a permanent space with room for expansion. Here are Patrick’s words:
Hi, my name is Patrick Maxwell Kabichi from Malawi. I am fundraising money to buy land for a school in Ntandire Village, Lilongwe. Over the past years I have been planning to open a school that will help less privileged people who are really willing to learn but failing because of school fees. Thank God my plan and dreams have come true! I have opened a school having 189 students currently. I have been renting a building but we need to move. I am asking well-wishers that can donate any amount of money so that we may have our own land. There has become available land with a school building, water and electricity on it which would be perfect for our school. Our goal is $46,000 for the land, buildings and repairs. Any donation is highly appreciated and I am grateful. God bless you as you are planning to donate.
Finally, I would like to extend my gratitude to the following people who have helped me to be where I am today, more especially my school process from high school to university. Robin and Robert Hoeniges, indeed you’re really my parents, what you did for me I will also do for others too. Philip Alden, Teresa Spray, Glen Ray and Lorenzo.
May God bless you all.
