Our dear friend, Patricia Meyer, was diagnosed with MDS Leukemia in October 2023. Unable to work since December 18, her only chance for a cure is a stem cell transplant, without which her life expectancy is very short.
Patricia's oncologist referred her to UVA Hospital, one of two places in Virginia that perform stem cell transplants. The treatment includes a four-week hospital stay followed by two months of follow-up care in Charlottesville.
Her sister and brother-in-law will drive from Kansas City to be her caregivers during this time. However, the cost of renting a house and travel expenses are not covered by insurance.
We are asking for your help to cover these unexpected costs. Our goal is to raise $8,000 for housing and travel expenses. Your support will make a tremendous difference in Patricia's fight against leukemia.
