Hello, my name is Renee Carpenter, and I'm creating this GoFundMe with permission from Patricia Harris. Patricia is a 48 year old mom of 2 and Mimi of 1. Her partner is my cousin, Todd Hazelwood. Patricia works as a teacher assistant at Stuart Elementary School, and she and her family are in need of your support.

Patricia went in for a colonoscopy in May of 2024. Unfortunately, the doctor was unable to complete the procedure due to finding a mass. Patricia was scheduled for surgery the next month in June. When she woke up from the surgery, her whole world changed. Additional masses were found, and the surgeon had to remove over 2 feet of her colon plus her right ovary and tube. Sadly, the biopsy results returned with stage 4 colon cancer.

Patricia is currently receiving chemo, which has been very rough on her with some crazy side effects. She will be getting a procedure done soon to see if the chemo is working. Through it all, Patricia has continued to work as much as possible. She does have insurance, but travel expenses to and from the doctors/chemo treatments along with monthly bills have been difficult to manage. The family asks for your support in any way possible.
