Help Patricia get on her feet!

I am Kim Watson. No one inspires me more than my friend Patricia Tomlinson (PT), who has been totally blind since birth. PT and I met at SOAR365, where we both worked. For the last 44 years, PT, who is 68 years old, has solely supported herself as a receptionist at SOAR365.

On Christmas Eve, PT fell down the steps of her home, fracturing her femur, hip, and other bones in her leg. After surgery, she moved from the hospital to a rehab facility for intensive physical and occupational therapy.

Now at home and living alone, PT must continue rehab, so she can once again walk independently. In the meantime, she has exhausted her paid time off. She will receive short-term disability until about mid-May. After that, she can apply for long-term disability, if it is needed. PT is hoping to return to her job around July 1st.

PT needs our help:

• She needs to purchase an electric chair lift, so she can safely get up her stairs to sleep in her second-floor bedroom, instead of on an air mattress on the first floor of her home.

• Her out-of-pocket medical expenses continue to grow and include hospital, rehab facility, medical transport, and ongoing physical and occupational therapy bills.

• She must purchase personal care services, such as bathing, meals, and household chores, so she can safely remain in her home.

• She needs help to pay recurring living expenses, because she will receive a 40% reduction in her salary while on short-term disability.
