Hi, my name is Pat and in April 2025 I was diagnosed with high grade dysplasia of my stomach, which resulted in an operation to remove my entire stomach (total gastrectomy) in May 2025. After some complications of the surgery I left hospital in June 2025. So the ongoing complications and physical toll of "dumping syndrome^ has made life restrictive. As if the full removal of my stomach wasn't enough I was served the "Double Whammy" diagnosed with Celiac Disease the Celiac diagnosis complicates recovery. Whilst most survivors need high-calorie foods to maintain weight, a Celiac diagnosis severely limits those options and increases food bills for certified gluten-free (GF) nutrition. This has increased my food bills due to not being able to eat food i'd eaten for years. Funds will be used to cover higher food costs and day to day bills.
