Help Pat Fight Devastating Oncological Syndrome

Sarah and Pat have been together for six years. Their love story began in 2017 while they were working together in the EMS field. Unfortunately, they have had to put their medical knowledge to the test recently. Eighteen months ago, Pat started experiencing anaphylactic episodes that put him into the hospital, where he was ultimately intubated. He began to have these crises on a non-stop basis. Their life has been completely turned upside down. Where most married couples in their 30s are enjoying their life together, Sarah and Pat are constantly spending their nights in the hospital, trying to keep Pat alive. Following extensive medical workups over the last 18 months, Pat has been diagnosed with an extremely rare oncological complication known as carcinoid crisis. As a previous cancer survivor in remission for over 20 years, he and his wife were completely blindsided not only by the diagnosis, but also by the frequent medical emergencies due to his airway closing without any notice. In the time since his diagnosis, they have contacted every healthcare system within driving distance of their home on Long Island, unable to find a specialist who can appropriately treat his syndrome due to the complex nature and complications that have arisen from carcinoid crisis. As his condition progresses, they will need to begin traveling out of state to find the help they need to give Pat a chance of survival.

Pat has always been an avid supporter of his community. He has been the first person to drop everything and help anyone in need. Now, he is in the fight for his life.
