Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Pat Guelle and his incredible wife, Janie. Pat is currently in the University of Minnesota hospital, battling severe liver and kidney failure. He has been hospitalized for several weeks now, facing a long and uncertain road to recovery.

Pat and Janie made the difficult decision to leave their home in Arkansas and come to Minnesota for better medical care and to be closer to their support system of family and friends. This was not an easy move, but it was made out of love, hope, and a fight for life.

Both Pat and Janie are dedicated educators who have given so much to their community in Arkansas. Now, they’ve had to take an indefinite leave of absence from their teaching jobs in order to focus entirely on Pat’s health. They’re even considering selling their home to manage the financial strain this crisis has placed on them.

They are the kind of people who go out of their way to help others — generous, humble, and always putting others first. Now, it’s our turn to help them.

All funds raised will go directly to help cover:

• Mounting medical expenses

• Temporary housing and daily living costs while in Minnesota

• Travel and transportation needs

• Ongoing bills as they navigate this uncertain time
