We are friends of Leanne who want to help her with the enormous burden she faces as she undergoes additional treatment for chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. Leanne will receive a stem cell transplant in October at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. She faces staggering medical bills from the transplant, along with earlier cancer treatments. Leanne is required to stay in Rochester for three months. She has less expensive housing at the Hospitality House near Mayo, but it will still add up over the long stay.
Honestly, she is fighting for her life. The emotional and physical toll is great. Reducing anxiety over this financial burden will help her focus on getting well. Thank you in advance.
Rev. Dr. Leanne Simmons is pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Bismarck, North Dakota. She has a daughter, Audrey Simmons.
