Help Pascal Overcome Financial Hurdles and Continue His PhD

Meet Pascal Pax Andebo, an inspiring PhD student, dedicated teacher, and compassionate humanitarian who urgently needs our support. He's a 4th-year PhD student in International Education Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park, currently facing financial challenges.

Pascal is originally from Uganda, and was a refugee in the DRC early in his life, an experience which delayed his education for close to three years. He's a dedicated teacher and humanitarian who has worked with refugees and displaced persons throughout the East and Horn of Africa. In addition to his studies, Pascal is also supporting the education of his eight children back home.

For the past three years, Pascal has been able to fund his studies through a combination of fellowships and graduate assistantships. However, his assistantship ended in May, and despite his best efforts, he hasn't been able to secure a new position for the Fall semester.

Pascal is so close to achieving his dream of earning his PhD. He is getting started on his dissertation and is determined to graduate within the next year, either in December 2026 or May 2027. It would be heartbreaking to see him lose this opportunity due to financial obstacles after coming so far.

As an international student, Pascal is facing high tuition fees, in addition to university and international student fees. For the Fall semester alone, he owes $11,000.

While Pascal is actively seeking new assistantships for the Spring and applying for dissertation fellowships, these potential opportunities don't address the immediate financial challenges he's facing.

I'm hoping that we can come together as a community to help Pascal during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in paying his fall tuition and his ability to continue his studies and his important work.

If you're able to contribute or can share Pascal's story with others who might be able to help, we would be incredibly grateful. Your support will not only help Pascal, but also his family and the many people he continues to serve through his work.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering supporting Pascal.
