Help Partner of Neighbor Killed in Hit and Run
Donation protected
Andrew and I recently discovered that our neighbor, Charles “Lawn Man” Young was killed by a hit-and-run driver, as he walked home, a few weeks ago.
According to his common-law wife, Ann Cooper, he was able to make it back to their home where he collapsed, was then transported to the hospital, and later died.
Ann, who is disabled and wheelchair-bound, is devastated by his loss. She has not only suffered the loss of her long-time partner, but other than the small Social Security check that she receives each month and Medicaid, “Lawn Man” was her sole means of support.
Andrew and I would like to offer her some assistance, but we need your help. We are asking our neighbors, and the community-at-large to contribute to the GoFundMe account that I have set up on her behalf.
Any money that we collect would help to pay for her trips back and forth to medical facilities, food, and housing. We will also check to see if DeKalb County has additional services that it can offer her.
“Lawn Man” was a staple in the Belvedere, Georgia community. Although a man of meager means who had little education, he was always hustling, looking for the next lawn to mow. We would often hear him coming down our street pushing his lawnmower and bellowing in his gruffy voice, “Lawn Man--get your grass mowed!”
Andrew and I used his services on a few occasions and were also instrumental in helping him secure other lawn care jobs. He was a hard worker trying to make a living the best way he knew.

Thank you, in advance for your help, and God bless!
