No father should ever be in this place. My friend in Nepal, Parasu, has a son with a terrible kidney disease (Crescentic glomerulonephritis) that, if left untreated, results in kidney failure and worse.
Treatment involves medication to prevent kidney failure and dialysis. Lots of hospital visits and time away from home and family. Right now, he is at Kanti Children's Hospital in Kathmandu, which is a very difficult 12-hour bus ride away from his family and home.
Member is very curious about the world around him. He might ask countless questions about everything, from how things work to why things are the way they are.
He enjoys creating elaborate stories or scenarios during playtime, often involving superheroes, adventure, or fantasy elements.
He has close friends and enjoys spending time with them, engaging in cooperative games and activities.
He likes reading and writing, enjoys stories, and is beginning to explore more complex subjects in school. He likes science, sports, and other hobbies.
He has a playful spirit. He enjoys silly jokes, playful teasing, and games that involve physical activity, such as running and jumping.
I am hoping that this GoFundMe can help his family pay for his medical expenses and the travel between home and the hospitals. Unlike in the US, Nepal does not have insurance plans, so all medical expenses are paid out of pocket. Any and all donations go straight to his family to help pay for his treatment and the burden of being away from home.
Please consider helping Parasu and his son Member. Parasu was so generous while I was visiting Nepal. He graciously shared his culture and life with us. He is a good guy with a good family who needs our help.
