On Sunday, January 20th, John Joseph Pryor (aka J.J.)  was working on his car in his driveway.  Looking forward to the game later in the day between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots, J.J was sporting his red Chiefs hat as he worked.  Around 8:30am a white car pulled up and the driver rolled down his window and asked J.J. “Hey bro who are you with”.  J.J not knowing who the person asking was or why they were asking, continued working on his car.  At that point, the person seated behind the driver got out of the car and approached John, shouting at him to remove his hat.  Before J.J could do anything he was shot point blank in the neck, and was instantly paralyzed from the bullet. 

J.J. was rushed to Yakima hospital and later airlifted to Seattle Harborview Hospital.  He spent 16 days in the ICU and has now been transferred to rehab where he is attempting speech and trying to adjust to a new life.  John is now a quadriplegic with a tracheostomy and feeding tube.  He will need 24 hour care for the rest of his life.

J.J.’s mom known to all as Netta has been a constant fixture by his side at Harborview and now at the rehab facility.  Netta had recently started a new job and when this tragedy happened took time off to be by her son’s side. J.J is a father to 2 boys currently in college.  The future is unsure for this family as they figure out where they will live based on J.J.’s new level of care needed.  This Go-fund me account will help with medical expenses and relocation expenses as needed as well as helping fund the  care of J.J. sons.  The need is urgent, please help in any way you can.
