Help Paqui Get Back on Her Feet

Paqui is the sweetest rescue Brittany, she was adopted by Terry a little over a year ago. Terry has worked tirelessly with Paqui to help her overcome her fears, especially of other dogs.

Saturday evening, Paqui was taking Terry for their usual evening stroll when a loose dog ran over and began attacking Paqui. Several Good Samaritans stopped to help, but Paqui was severely injured in the process. Terry and some of the Good Samaritans rushed Paqui to the emergency vet. There they determined that there are severe lacerations and injuries to her legs and a large gash on her muzzel. She also has a closed fracture in her ulna.

Paqui is going to require a lot of ongoing veterinary care. When she returns home, she is going to have to be kept quiet to recuperate.

The owner of the dog that attacked Paqui has indicated that they will pay for expenses related to emergency veterinary care. We are not sure when/if these charges will be covered. We are also not sure what additional expenses Terry will incure. She may need special tools and treats to keep Paqui comfortable at home. When Paqui can interact with other dogs again, she may need the help of a behaviorist if she has redeveloped her fear of other dogs.
