It is with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to our Pappou (Grandfather in Greek) today, January 17, 2021. He was a World War II survivor, who sailed with the Greek army around the world until he found my YiaYia (Grandmother) in 1961 and started his family. He was a loving, caring, devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle who was always welcoming to all, helped out as many unfortunate people as he could throughout his life and loved to get the party started with his signature dance moves. He was fighting for his life since the summer of 2018, where we were told he had only hours to live.
We managed to bring him to NY and get him the treatment he needed, which ended up giving us 2 very special years to enjoy with him. His dying wish was to be brought "back to the motherland" and be buried next to his parents in Poros, Greece. We ask that anyone who can help make his wish come true contribute whatever they can to make it possible. On behalf of my family, we thank everyone for taking the time to even read this and appreciate you all.
Love,
The Terio/Pizanias Family
