Papi is my best friend and the sweetest companion anyone could ask for. Last weekend, our world turned upside down when he was diagnosed with diabetes. Unfortunately, it had gone undetected for so long that he developed ketoacidosis, a life-threatening condition. The vet gave us a choice: let him go peacefully or fight for his life. I chose to fight because Papi is still so full of life and I couldn't imagine my days without him by my side.
We spent 48 hours in the hospital, where Papi had to endure four catheters—one in each leg—and blood draws every two hours. Despite everything, he kept fighting and eating, showing incredible strength and bravery. Watching him go through so much was heartbreaking, but his determination inspired me to keep going, no matter the cost. The medical bills and ongoing care have been overwhelming, but I would do anything to help my baby get better, even if it means going into debt.
Now, Papi needs daily insulin shots, a special diet, and constant glucose monitoring. It's going to be a long journey, but I am committed to giving him the best chance at a happy, healthy life. If Papi's story touched your heart and you might be able to help, we would greatly appreciate any support. Thank you so much for reading and caring about my best friend.
