Dear Friends and Loved ones of Owen "Papa Owen" Carter and his Family,

Papa Owen passed away unexpectedly, but with loved ones by his side, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Monday afternoon, January 6th, 2025. He lived to be 81 years old, a good long life, but we thought we'd have more time with him still. His girls are heartbroken over losing their dad, their hero, so please come together and show them some love and support.

Owen is the beloved father of Jeni, Nikki, and Elise and the grandfather of Mahina, Thalia, Makani, Tristan, Shyloh, Tre, and Xia, and the great-grandfather of Stella and Rizen. He was also Father-in-law to Isa, and a father figure to myself and many other of his daughter's friends. He was a caring and loyal man with the hugest heart, and we will miss him. Our biggest comfort is that he is with our Makani on the other side.

We all know that losing a parent is an overwhelming loss that you can never be ready for. It's been a time of great heartache for this family with the passing of Makani just over a year ago... from this, we will never recover. It's too soon to have another loss, but that's where we find ourselves today.

We have set up this GoFundMe in the hopes of easing the financial worry for his girls, to cover the cost of his arrangements. The funds we raise will be used to cover the cost of Papa's cremation, which is $3500, and for a small memorial. We know that times are tough for many of you, so if you can't donate, please don't worry. Prayers and kind words when you see his family go a long way. No donation is too small, and the little donations are just as thoughtful as the larger ones. Every little bit counts and will be a huge help.
